In early 2018, Avonbridge and Standburn Active Travel Group (ASATG) drew up outline proposals for a new route between Avonbridge and Braes High School using paths and minor road routes. The proposed Avonbridge-Candie-Standburn-Braes route would be around 10.5km long, using a mix of minor public roads, upgraded paths and new-build paths. The resulting detailed report commissioned using Burnhead Moss grant funding was completed in April 2021. ASATG Report April 2021
